Weekend Two round-up

Winter F.A.W.C! is officially in full swing with the first week done and dusted, and plenty of happy F.A.W.C!ers out wining and dining across Hawke's Bay. 

If you missed out on last weekends fun, you have some time to get in on the action during Weekend Two.  We have a few events offering a limited amount of tickets, so you better hurry if you want to secure your seat at the table.

Dig in and get your hands colourful at this vibrant hands-on workshop. You’ll be experiencing the colours of the rainbow in an entirely new way as you whip up a fully plant-based seven dish, three-course lunch. Think beetroot gnocchi, bright orange carrot soup or even a blueberry chia dessert. 

Wild & Vine

Church Road has teamed up with Wild Game Salamis to present the ultimate blending afternoon for game meat enthusiasts. Chief Winemaker Chris Scott will guide participants through creation of their own Church Road wine blend, while Rob Beard from Wild Game Salamis will help teams to produce the perfect wild sausage. Chris and Rob will judge their favourite combinations with Church Road prizes to be won.

Winter warming wind-up

Is there anything better than sitting fireside on a Winter evening? Why not do just that in the cosy, rustic setting of Crab Farm Winery? Take a seat with your favourite people next to the blazing fire pit, and get stuck in to a hearty two-course meal with thoughtful wine matches – it’s sure to help you ward off that Winter chill! With live music, and an intimate shared dining set-up, it’s an evening worth leaving home for. 


et ready for the ultimate bootcamp where you’ll eat a top-notch lunch from the pit, and learn the fundamentals of low ‘n’ slow BBQ cooking. Pitmaster, Jimmy Macken, will show you how to get the most out of your backyard BBQ. You will get the low down on competition from Mike Covich (a legend in the growing New Zealand competition scene), and you’ll meet the butcher who will talk you through the technical cuts on meat.

Vege Bang Bang

It’s vegetarian fare that will make you throw your appetite for meat out of the window faster than you can say ‘quinoa’. Join brilliant chef Francky Godinho as he crafts a vibrant, mouth-watering lunch. Whether you’re a long-converted vegetarian or a good old-fashioned meat lover, this afternoon of grazing will be sure to satisfy any taste. It’s a long lunch featuring four courses that won’t leave you with the guilts — now that’s something worth seeking out.
