Originally from France, Leslie arrived in New Zealand in 2010, before opening her own restaurant with her partner, Apero Food and Wine in 2014. Apero quickly gained an excellent reputation for great food and interesting wines.
In 2016, Leslie competed in the San Pellegrino Young Chef of the Year and won the Australasian Title, before going on to compete in the Worldwide competition which was held in Milan.
Apero, has gone on to win numerous accolades including the 2017 Best Metropolitan Restaurant in New Zealand, as awarded by Cuisine Magazine, as well as gaining two Hats in the Cuisine Good Food Guide every year since 2017.
As a chef, Leslie has a pretty simple philosophy, which is all about flavor. She loves to use simple ingredients and focuses on making tasty food. She pretty much loves to eat everything … except beetroot.
