After leaving school at 17, I was offered a butchery apprenticeship through a supermarket. I qualified in 2012, and was announced Foodstuff's Apprentice of the Year, and a finalist for the Lower North Island for Retail Meats New Zealand Apprentice of the Year. In the following year I competed at the finals for Butcher of the Year. Overall I have been butchering for the last 10 years, I really enjoy what I do and the experiences I have gained over the years.
Currently I work part time while I enjoy the young years with my kids before they start school which I am really grateful for of my boss Dave Thompson at Gourmeats.
