Chris Reid’s drinks background started in the wine industry: he worked as a winemaker extensively throughout New Zealand, as well as stints in America and France. But in 2013, after travelling and tasting gins and whiskies in Scotland with his brother Stewart, Chris became enthralled with the diversity and complexity of craft gin and decided to set up Reid + Reid as a side project when he returned home to New Zealand. Little did he know it would later become his full-time job a mere few years later... Chris’ approach to distilling is heavily influenced by his natural surroundings and decisive flavour profiles and concepts, creating a balanced between traditional and contemporary
