Jennifer Mackie graduated from The Robert Gordon University, Scotland, in 2008 with a Bsc (hons) Physiotherapy. Having worked in the NHS public system for 6 months her wunderlust took over and she headed on a world adventure. Settling in Hawkes Bay New Zealand and working full time as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist for 10 years.
Her love of all things health and fitness led her to discover the pilates method and she became a fully Certified Comprehensive Pilates Teacher.
After suffering a birth injury with her first child her already keen interest in women specific training was heightened. Going on to become a certified Pre and Post natal coach, as well as attend numerous womens health courses in person and online.
Jennifer owns and runs a Pilates Studio in Central Hawkes Bay. Where in person she treats a diverse range of clients from new mums to neurological conditions. Her studio runs 20 + classes a week. Having a history in coaching, she coached hockey from a young age and was a ski instructor for 10 years. Her classes are fun, dynamic, challenging and full of knowledge.
Jen's passion for exercise and movement is contagious. She is beyond excited to be able to offer her services for The Motherhood Project. Allowing her to share her knowledge of women specific training and create programs that will positively effect mothers lifes in so many ways. It takes away the barriers of obtaining sound and best practice based advice from a qualified source.
Jen has 2 preschool aged boys and lives in Central Hawkes Bay with her husband. She is into anything active having skied the world, completed half iron men, played hockey and climbed a few hills!
