Self taught artist, John Lancashire Jnr emigrated to Australia with his family when he was just a small boy. As a rebellious teen, John dropped-out of a prestigious art school in Sydney, preferring to nurture his creative talent in his own way. John eventually moved to New Zealand with his partner, Debbie Schaare, daughter of local artist, Sue Schaare. Together they established Pearl, a hair salon in Napier. While hairdressing, John continued to paint and develop his unique style in his spare time, building a reputation as a serious artist. He has twice been a finalist in the Molly Morpeth Painting Award, 2015 and 2019.
