Kieran Jr Genge


Kieran Jr Genge, Head Chef at The Hastings Golf Club. Starting at the age of thirteen cleaning pots and plating cold garnish in a family run restaurant ‘The Valiant Soldier' Roadwater. It was at this young age where he began to realize this was maybe a career path for him. Several years later Kieran decided to gain his official city and guilds qualifications for professional cookery and whilst he knew this was necessary he believes no learning came close to the countless 16 hour days chefs spend in the kitchen.  Working under various well-known and award-winning chefs in the South West of the UK for 3 years, ranging from rosette hotels, pubs and restaurants. Kieran became one of if not the youngest Head Chef in Somerset, UK aged 21. It was at ‘The Old Ship Aground' Minehead where his personality and reputation for Great British and French Cuisine started to show. Whilst Kieran was at the helm of the ‘Ship Aground’ it became widely well known for its Seafood Night Set Menu’s, Fine Dining, Medieval and Rosette Banquettes.  Now, international Chef, Kieran Genge has taken on a new endeavour at Fairways, hoping to grow the reputation of The Hastings Golf Club through its food via functions.
