Lisa Chambers joins Te Awa Winery Restaurant as the Assistant Hospitality Manager on her return to Hawkes Bay after more than ten years of working abroad.
With most of her hospitality experience based in Sydney, Lisa made it her goal to master all facets of running a successful front of house team which included the highly successful Chophouse, owned by the Pacific Restaurant group.
Having always had a natural curiosity and strong passion for the wine industry, Lisa decided 3 years ago to follow this passion. She completed her skill set and fully immersed herself in sommelier positions at some of Sydney’s most celebrated and revered restaurants including Uccello and Mr Wong (Merivale Group), later moving on to work for the Fink Group in both The Bridgeroom and most recently, working as part of the wine team for the highly-anticipated opening of Peter Gilmore’s Bennelong in the Sydney Opera House.
Lisa is now focused on bringing her years of management, service focus and wine knowledge to the Gimblett Gravels and Te Awa.
